Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment goes beyond simply improving the appearance of your smile. Straight teeth are easier to clean through daily brushing and other oral hygiene habits, which helps in preventing cavities and gum disease. Additionally, misaligned bites can negatively impact overall oral health and may even contribute to issues like headaches and stiff shoulders, affecting areas beyond the mouth. By correcting the alignment of your teeth through orthodontics, you can help resolve these problems and support better overall health.
Self-ligating braces have a built-in mechanism that secures the wire, unlike traditional braces which rely on rubber bands over the brackets to keep the wire in place. This design means fewer dental visits, easier maintenance, and generally less discomfort or pain for the patient.
After your braces come off or you finish clear aligner treatment, your teeth can slowly shift back to where they started. That’s where retainers come in—they help keep your smile in place while your gums and bones settle into their new positions. Think of them as the final step in your orthodontic journey, making sure all that hard work lasts. Wearing your retainer as instructed is an easy way to protect your straight teeth and keep your smile looking great for years to come.

There are two common types: Essix retainers and Hawley retainers
Essix retainers, which are clear, snug-fitting trays that cover your teeth and are nearly invisible, and Hawley retainers, which use a thin wire and a plastic base that rests on the roof of your mouth or behind your lower teeth. Essix retainers are more discreet, while Hawley retainers are more durable and adjustable.
